Regional Foundations Collaborate in National Effort to Build Nursing Workforce Capacity

Nineteen local foundations join strategic national initiative led by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Northwest Health Foundation.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and Northwest Health Foundation (NWHF) today announced 10 new grants to begin the fourth phase of Partners Investing in Nursing’s Future, a unique national initiative to help address the long-term shortage of nurses across the country.

Susan Hassmiller Receives Florence Nightingale Medal

RWJF Senior Adviser for Nursing Awarded Nursing's Highest International Honor
Susan Hassmiller, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., is one of three U.S. nurses chosen by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to receive the 42nd Florence Nightingale Medal, nursing’s highest international honor. Program Invests in Local Philanthropies to Create Collaborative, Community-Based Solutions to the Nursing Shortage

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) is investing $12 million over five years through grants of $250,000 to local foundations in a partnership with the Northwest Health Foundation called Partners Investing in Nursing's Future.

National Jobs Initiative Awards Grants to Eight Projects to Help Frontline Workers Upgrade Skills and Advance Career Opportunities

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) has awarded $3.5 million in grants to projects in eight states to help advance the careers of frontline health care workers. One of the eight grants was awarded to PIN partner MS Hospital Association Health, Research & Educational Foundation, Madison, Mississippi.
